Air knives deliver a high impact air stream in a line along the length of the devices. The shape of the air knife is such that it aids in the entrainment of the surrounding air via the Coanda effect. The air entrained in this way greatly increased the force and impact of the flow meaning less compressed air can be used overall.
EXAIR air knives come in two models: Standard and Super.
The Standard Air Knife is EXAIR’s original air knife design. It uses a Coanda profile which turns the airflow 90 degrees from its outlet. This creates a low pressure area capable of entraining ambient air at a ratio of 30:1 while producing a powerful airflow; but does have a higher operating cost than the Super Air Knife. Available from stock in 3″ to 48″ lengths and made from aluminum or Type 303 stainless steel. Custom sizes and materials are available.
EXAIR’s Super Air Knife is the most efficient compressed air knife on the market and our most popular design. It delivers a uniform sheet of laminar airflow across the entire length with hard-hitting force and the lowest operating cost. It is engineered to dramatically reduce compressed air usage while entraining ambient air at a ratio of 40:1. Noise levels are greatly reduced when compared to other blowoffs. Available from stock 3″ to 108″ long and made from aluminium, Type 303 stainless steel, Type 316 stainless steel and PVDF to meet your application needs. Custom sizes and materials available.
