When an ionising bar is combined with an air knife the range of the ionised air is greatly increased. This is because air knives are designed to deliver a laminar high velocity air flow along their length. This is great for increasing the blow off power of the air knife but it also helps prevent the ions from mixing too much and cancelling each other out before they reach the target. The Ion Air Knife, therefore, offers a far greater range than ionising blowers.

EXAIR’s Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife uses Standard Air Knife (30:1 air amplification) to deliver a sheet of ionised air to a charged surface. Air consumption and noise are somewhat higher than the Gen4 Super Ion Air Knife (40:1 air amplification). The Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife removes static electricity from plastics, webs, sheet stock and other product surfaces where tearing, jamming or hazardous shocks are a problem.
