Compressed air is delivered into the conveyor and is ejected through one side, this draws in air from the other side creating a natural air motion. As shown in the diagram, when tubes are attached each side a conveyor system is formed.
Common applications are: hopper loading, product moving, debris removal and barrel loading / emptying.
The main advantages of these systems over conventional conveyors is:
- No moving parts
- High reliability
- Very compact size
- Easily controllable flow
Air conveyors should be considered as an alternative to other forms of conveyor system when the environment is dirty, wet or in otherwise hostile to the deployment of electrically powered systems or where space prohibits such systems.
